課程概述 |
1. Working with tolerances on the order of micro- or nano-scale, precision metrologists require the knowledge to operate highly sophisticated inspection instruments, such as optical comparators, profilometers, roughness measuring instruments, sphericity measurement and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) systems.
2. A good mathematical background and understanding of complex Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT) drawings is also required to determine the exact parameters to be inspected and how to process a part during the inspection sequence.
3. This subject will benefit those with the responsibility to measure/inspect/quantify manufactured products in learning new techniques for modern precision metrology.
4. The class will require students to operate some modern measuring instruments along with all the available inspections tools.
5. The students will be introduced with the modern technologies in various measuring techniques and quantifying statistics. In the end of semester, a factory/company visit will be also provided to the students to experience the developing trend and R&D activities in the industries. |
